Menorah Park names new CEO

Posted September 28, 2016 in Articles

James P. Newbrough Jr. has been named the new CEO of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood.

Newbrough will join Menorah Park Oct. 5. He will succeed Steven R. Raichilson, will who retire after nearly 30 years.

“Menorah Park’s board leadership and the search committee worked extremely hard to fill this position,” Raichilson said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working very closely with Jim to assure a smooth transition and intend to provide every type of support he may need in the months ahead to make his tenure a huge success for both Menorah Park and him personally.”

Newbrough, 53, most recently served as president of the Home Care Division of Ohio Health, a multihospital integrated delivery system in Columbus. He has more than 35 years of experience in the health care field, with a significant portion of his time spent in skilled nursing and home health care.

“Senior care is rapidly evolving to meet the needs of a new generation of older adults,” said Peter Meisel, Menorah Park board chair. “At Menorah Park, we are carefully adding programs and services to address this changing demographic and we are confident Jim has the experience, the energy, the enthusiasm, the passion and the compassion to lead us forward.”

A native of Akron, Newbrough holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration.

“I am deeply honored to have been chosen to build on the wonderful foundation put in place by Steve Raichilson during the past 30 years,” Newbrough said. “Menorah Park has a reputation for excellence that extends far beyond Northeast Ohio.

“I am delighted to be joining a talented staff committed to the highest standards of quality and professionalism, and an organization known for its innovation. Working with our board, our staff, our volunteers, our donors and the community at large, I pledge to continue the momentum that has brought us to this exciting point in our history, to recognize the important role the Jewish religion plays in everything we do, and to continue Menorah Park’s commitment to Jewish culture and service to the Jewish community.

The 12-month search for a new CEO was conducted by ZurickDavis, a Boston-based search firm specializing in placing senior executives in health care management positions.
