All classes are FREE for Health Maintenance Program members and residents
All classes are “drop-in” meaning you do not have to sign-up, just come on in!

1. Aqua Fitness: This class is designed to increase strength and aerobic conditioning. Participants are lead through a variety of aquatic exercises to a faster beat for a total body workout. This medium intensity class uses rhythm and fun to increase endurance, with valuable stretching & flexibility for a good cool-down finish.
2. Function and Flow: A combination of balance and flexibility movements from our Ai Chi class combined with functional strengthening. The class is held in the shallow end of the pool.
3. Ai Chi: Ai Chi is a smooth, graceful form of aquatic exercise that uses a series of progressive movements (katas) in shallow water along with focused deep breathing. This relaxing practice improved mobility, core strength, balance and relieves tension and stress. Slow the rush of life with relaxing music and flowing movements in a soothing, controlled pattern.
4. Aquatic HIIT: Aquatic HIIT, or High-Intensity Interval Training, is an exercise class designed with short bursts of vigorous exercise alternating with low intensity recovery periods. Each bout of exercise is like a sprint to raise your heart rate, with rest to regain the energy for another intense burst. HIIT has been shown to produce many health benefits including decreases in body fat, heart rate, and blood pressure. You will burn calories long after the class is over.
5. Water Wake Up: Join the morning water crew for our Water Wake Up class. This water exercise class will focus on all fitness components including aerobic, strength & endurance training, balance and flexibility. During the class you will learn how to use the water and aquatic equipment to increase or decrease your work intensity.
6. Deep Water Fit: Don a belt (or a noodle) and take it deep! Jog, jack, ski, and tuck for a water workout like no other. Experience the joys of working hard in the water with no impact on the floor at all! Joy will lead you in moves to strengthen your core, increase range of motion, and challenge your cardio in the deep water. No swimming skills are needed, however, a comfort in deep water is a must.
7. Foundations of Aquatic Exercise: This class is a quarterly series for participants from The Gathering Place. In this class, participants will explore different ways to exercise in an aquatic environment to build strength, endurance and improve balance after cancer treatment. Each class will focus on a different topic related to aquatic exercise. Sign ups must be completed through The Gathering Place at touchedbycancer.org
8. Acacia Reservation Walking Club: Join our exercise specialists Lisa & Amy at Acacia reservation for a group walk and post walk stretches. The group will meet at Acacia Reservation at 12:15pm and you can sign up at the front desk. All walking abilities are welcome and there are benches available on the trail. See calendar for dates.
9. Tuesday Talks: Join one of our staff members on the second Tuesday of each month at 12:15pm for a presentation on various health & wellness topics. See calendar for the presentation topic each month.
10. Yoga with Lisa: Join our Exercise Specialist, Lisa Altenbaugh for yoga. The practice of yoga involves methods of connecting the body and the mind. Our classes include meditation, breathwork and yoga poses to help our students increase body awareness and mental clarity. Yoga has been shown to ease anxiety and depression as well as alleviate pain. Join us for either seated or combined seated/standing classes to improve your strength, flexibility, balance and overall well-being.
11. Get It All Water Workout: This exercise class will introduce you to water workouts and give you a little bit of everything. Come try a water workout with our exercise specialist Amy Nieman, and see how you can benefit your strength, endurance, balance and flexibility.
