thank you
Menorah Park and Montefiore of Menorah Park are now one integrated foundation and will continue to honor the rich philanthropic legacy of all of our past benefactors.
Barry and Lynn Chesler have dedicated nearly two decades of their time, talent, and treasure to Menorah Park. An active board member for more than 18 years, Barry has contributed his time and resources to furthering the mission of Menorah Park and its residents. Right by his side is his wife Lynn, whose love of the arts became an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the clients and residents of Menorah Park.
With a background as a recreational therapist, Lynn’s passion for the healing effects of the arts is part of everything she does. On any given day she can be found in her studio cutting and trimming beautifully colored paper to create her one-of-a-kind greeting cards. In her work experience she had the opportunity to see first-hand how the power of the arts could create something positive and ease trauma and pain that her clients were experiencing.
When the Cheslers were approached about establishing a donor fund more than 15 years ago, there was no doubt that the fund would involve art therapy. Initially their fund provided materials for an arts and crafts program for younger clients that had experienced some sort of brain trauma. The fund continues to provide arts and crafts supplies to those who benefit from the motor skills and intellectual stimulation of art therapy in Menorah Park’s Mandel Adult Day Center.
Lynn and Barry add to the fund annually to honor an anniversary, birthday, or to remember someone who has passed away. Their goal is to provide art supplies forever, ensuring that Day Center clients for generations to come will benefit from their love of the arts and its power to provide hope and healing.
