Menorah Park and Montefiore of Menorah Park are now one integrated foundation and will continue to honor the rich philanthropic legacy of all of our past benefactors.
FUNdamentals Child Care Center, while open to the public, is committed to providing the employees of Menorah Park high quality child care service. Young children learn through hands-on, minds-on exploration and discovery, guided by degreed teachers who prepare rich learning environments, provoke children's questions, and mentor them. Parents can have peace of mind while they work knowing their child is well cared for.
As Early Childhood Educators, we understand the importance of quality child care. Which is why FUNdamentals has chosen to be a part of the Ohio Voluntary Step Up To Quality System and is very proud to be a 5 Star Step Up To Quality Center. With this in mind, our teachers provide stimulating environments in each of our three classrooms. We follow the Creative Curriculum, which is a developmentally appropriate education model that adheres to the highest standards in our field and is linked with the Ohio Early Learning Developmental standards. We are also proud to hold the title of "Healthy Ohio Center".
In our classrooms you will always see: warm and positive teacher-child interaction; low teacher-child ratios; children actively engaged in developmentally appropriate planned activities; regular communication with parents; a clean, healthy and safe environment; respect for cultural diversity, and nutritious USDA approved meals.
We're proud partners of the Invest in Children’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program. Learn More
While we are open to the public, children of Menorah Park employees will receive preference for spaces available. Center visits are available by appointment only, but you may come in to complete a Reservation Form. After reviewing your completed form, the Director will contact you regarding enrollment next steps. Give us a call at (216) 839-6679 if you have any questions!
We provide child care for children 6 weeks of age to 5 years old in one of the classrooms described as follows:
During the first year of life, children grow more rapidly than at any other time in their lives. Infants are extremely sensitive to their environments, which is why developmentally appropriate sensory stimulation is a crucial element of our program. Infants thrive when they encounter challenges they can meet. They flourish when they are free to explore and when they feel that caring adults encourage and take pleasure in their emerging interests and skills. A nurturing environment, the opportunity to interact meaningfully with care-givers and peers, and the ability to safely explore their surroundings, are key components to our Infant program.
At this stage of development, children are exploring, beginning to use words, learning how to do for themselves, making social contacts and observing everything and questioning everything. This is the time when they are learning how things in the world work, including themselves. Their language skills are emerging and they are very curious about everything. The children will listen to stories, songs and finger plays to help build language skills. In this classroom your child will be exposed to their first creative art and sensory experiences. The environment is designed at their level with all safe, age appropriate items available within their reach. Children will also receive adequate time for physical development on our playground or in the gross motor room. The start of a positive potty training experience may begin in this classroom.
This is the final stop for your toddler before he/she begins the preschool program. Your child will have a sense of who they are and how they are connected to others. They are learning to make choices and to become independent. Our program is designed to encourage and enhance these skills. By understanding their cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development for this age, we plan a wide range of appropriate learning activities. They will also participate in intergenerational programming and attend field trips when age appropriate with the preschool class.
This classroom is arranged with a variety of interesting learning centers so that the children are able to direct their own play. Through our developmentally appropriate curriculum, the children have the opportunity and are encouraged to; make choices, problem-solve, develop their self-help skills, and learn to work together. This classroom will prepare your little one for Kindergarten. They also have the opportunity to experience intergenerational programs, field trips and guest speakers from the community.
