Menorah Park and Montefiore of Menorah Park are now one integrated foundation and will continue to honor the rich philanthropic legacy of all of our past benefactors.
Our designated pharmacy for vaccine distribution is CVS. The CVS team has been at all locations to vaccinate residents and staff who choose this added protection against the virus. Due to our size, vaccination schedules have been ongoing for both first and second dose vaccinations. The vaccine we are receiving is from Pfizer. Details about its COVID-19 vaccine may be found here.
We have included a Q&A document developed by vice president of medical affairs, Dr. Jessica Coleman and the infection control team to help answer questions you may have.
As vaccination plans continue in the community-at-large, most states have specific sites where you can find information about availability in your area as well as the guidelines in place. In Ohio, information can be found on this site Vaccine.coronavirus.ohio.gov.
Mid- afternoon on Wednesday November 18, we received an updated advisement by Cuyahoga County officials. County residents are advised to only leave their home for essential needs such as seeking medical care, purchasing needed household items or to go to work or school. Residents are also strongly advised to forgo having additional gatherings in their homes with anyone not consistently considered members of the household. Out of an abundance of caution, 14 day quarantine protocols are in place for Menorah Park community residents leaving campuses. We will continue to evaluate quarantine with adjustments based on the County advisories and guidance of local, state and national medical professionals.
Should Menorah Park community residents choose to join family in the community-at-large, the body of medical professionals provides the following recommendations:
Due to the additional actions by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to code Cuyahoga County as a red zone, we also must suspend indoor visitation for all campus locations including independent and assisted living in addition to the skilled nursing residences. We will continue to follow directives provided by the state of Ohio regarding visitation that is currently suspended throughout Ohio at this time.
Knowing the importance of maintaining vital connections with loved ones, our life enrichment teams schedule virtual visits using technology such as iPads and iPhones and will also help with traditional phone calls.
Residences are engaging in best practices of cleanliness and safety following guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, the Ohio Department of Health and medical professionals.
As part of Ohio’s efforts to provide additional resources to nursing homes, the state has implemented an infection control checklist and an ongoing auditing process along with mandated testing for staff.Surveyors have conducted audits that have resulted in approval of our practices.
Our Assisted Living and Long-term care residences received a national Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The bronze award received honors providers that have demonstrated their commitment to improving the quality of care for adults as they age and individuals with disabilities.

Distancing Doesn't Mean Complete Isolation. Our staff is busy making sure no one feels isolated, and family-time is as important as ever! Please know you can still connect with your loved one! Through letters, phone, Skype, Facebook and other forms of social media, you can still have conversations and even facetime to brighten their day. We want to make sure everyone can still be in contact, even if virtually. You can send email to our life enrichment team and we will print them out and make sure your loved ones receive them! Email to: KSkerl@menorahpark.org.
We are also helping residents write letters to their loved ones. If you haven't updated your email, do so by emailing Kim your new email and home addresses. KSkerl@menorahpark.org.
The Centers for Disease Control also provides additional suggestions and alternatives for staying connected with your loved ones.
Menorah Park’s heroic staff members dedicated to wellbeing and safety of our residents are extremely grateful for the generosity of Menorah Park board and community members who have stepped forward to help fund needed items.
