Menorah Park’s Campus News Magazine claimed the 2018 APEX Award for Publication Excellence for facing ageismhead onin articles and ads, according to a news release.
The magazine issue submitted for the competition featured Menorah Park’s R.H. Myers resident Jane Friedman on the cover. Readers learned how Friedman ages with grace, humor and a light-hearted understanding that everyone gets older, according to the release.
Other stories included how the Beachwood senior living facility faces ageism and how a “don’t quit attitude” helped a stroke survivor get back to his art. The magazine has a circulation of about 12,000.
