Interactions with younger generation beneficial to seniors

Posted January 09, 2018 in Articles

Author: Becky Raspe

“It helps (seniors) in several ways,” Altman said. “The first thing I would say is that it helps with memory. We see that when are doing activities with residents on campus, some start to reminisce. It helps them remember what it used to be like and brings up good memories for them. When the kids come to visit them, they can sing songs like "Twinkle Twinkle" or the ABCs and still know the words. Sometimes they like to watch the kids interact and play and reminisce how they raised their own kids.”
