President and CEO
James (Jim) Newbrough joined Menorah Park in October of 2016.
Under his direction as president and CEO, the Menorah Park campus continues its tradition of excellence to provide our community the best of resources, expert advice, programming, education, support services and residential living options for adults as they age.
Prior to joining Menorah Park, Jim was the President of the Home Care Division for OhioHealth Corporation in Columbus, Ohio. He served the health care industry for more than thirty years in a variety of positions including the Chief Operating and Chief Nursing Officer for Dublin Methodist Hospital, President of Cambridge Home Health, CEO of the VNA of the Treasure Coast, President of HomeReach (OhioHealth's home care company), Vice President with Visiting Nurse Service & Affiliates in Akron, Ohio, and the Administrator for Bon Secours Home Health Services in the Florida market.
Chief Operating Officer
Offering more than 25 years of experience in health care facility management, Richard has been at Menorah Park since 1990. His primary responsibility is in the operation of Menorah Park’s 360-bed skilled nursing facility, which offers long-term and sub-acute care to patients. He also oversees in-patient and outpatient rehabilitation, and the aquatic therapy center.
Richard received the Association of Jewish Aging Services’ (AJAS) Dr. Herbert Shore Young Executive Award in 2001, and the 2006 AJAS Professional award. He is an active Board member of AJAS, and he has co-chaired two annual AJAS conferences. He is a strong advocate for seniors and wellness services, and as a result, received the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) Outstanding Advocacy Award in 2008. In 2019, Richard was named Professional of the Year by AJAS.
Chief Development Officer, Menorah Park Foundation
Since August 2011, Joel has spent his entire professional life committed to nonprofit management and fundraising in Cleveland. After a two-year graduate student field placement at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, he spent 27 years on the JFC staff culminating in a 10-year term as Executive Vice-President. Fox was honored with the Louis J. Kraft Award for outstanding professional service from the Jewish Communal Service Association of North America, which he served as national vice-president. He was selected for the Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Program, and the Jewish Federations of North America’s Mandel Fellows Executive Development Program.
Fox served as Executive Vice President of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation from 2007-09, and as Director of Development of the Great Lakes Science Center from 2009-11. He is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Cleveland. Fox graduated Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh,and received his Master’s of Science in Social Administration from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in 1980. He is an inaugural inductee in the Mandel School Hall of Achievement, having been recognized with its Professional Achievement Award in 2016.
Vice President of Business Development and Community Health
Seth has experience in operations and strategic planning, and in his previous role at Montefiore, oversaw 600 employees on two senior living campuses. Prior to joining Montefiore, Seth worked at Cleveland Clinic, most recently as administrative director for the Center for Connected Care. In that capacity, he oversaw operations and strategy for the health system’s homecare, transitional care, skilled care and hospice.
He has a strong clinical background and understanding of the complex healthcare landscape, and in his former position helped enable the organization to continue to navigate the rapidly evolving healthcare environment, leading improvements in quality of care and workforce development, and creating several new initiatives. He participated in Leading Edge’s CEO Onboarding program in 2017, an exclusive national training program for non-profit leaders in the Jewish community.
Seth earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis on health industry management from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Before joining the Cleveland Clinic, he worked in healthcare consulting at ZS Associates in Chicago and London.
Chief Financial Officer
Brenda Satterfield joined Menorah Park as its Chief Financial Officer in November, 2019.
She is responsible for leading the overall financial strategy and direction within the framework of Menorah Park’s core values with a strong emphasis on stewardship. Brenda guides the finance and information technology functions to pursue the organization’s strong growth strategy and to meet our expectations of excellence.
Some examples of her valuable areas of expertise include: financial strategic planning; evaluation of growth and expansion strategies; profitability and cost analysis, and systems and technology utilization.
Prior to joining Menorah Park, Brenda was the CFO of Brookwood Management which designs, builds and manages Danbury Senior Living. She has served senior living sector for 22 years, as CFO for Altercare Health Systems, Kingston Healthcare, VP of Operations and CHI Living as CFO.
Associate Administrator
Lori Losier is currently also assuming the position of acting Administrator at Montefiore. As Menorah Park Associate Administrator, Lori has worked closely with Richard Schwalberg, Chief Operating Officer.
Lori was most recently with University Hospitals and has also held
positions at Benjamin Rose Institute and Eliza Jennings
Senior Care Network. As an accomplished trailblazer with 25 years of
experience in the health care field, she has worn several hats including a role in leadership in partnership with the medical director for the Center of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care across the health system at University Hospitals. Her demonstrated skills and passion have led her to this next chapter at Menorah Park.“I’ve known this organization (Menorah Park) for more than 30 years and have always considered it the best in Cleveland. I walked in the door and it feels like you’re home. It’s a very welcoming culture. Staff works really well together in supporting each other. And the smiles and welcomes I continue to receive from everyone at
our campus community have been truly delightful." She added that Menorah Park is positioned well as an excellent provider of supports and services for adults as they age.
“One of my goals is to enter into additional collaborations in the community to support the needs of adults at an even greater level. We will continue to evolve as we see the needs and available opportunities change and grow."
Vice President Human Resources
Jamie Herbst joined Menorah Park in 1996. She is responsible for leading the human resources department, with a focus on employee relations strategies that represent the organization’s culture and values. She oversees HR programs and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and partners with leaders across the organization. As a result, Menorah Park is known as an employer of choice throughout the healthcare industry.
Some examples of initiatives are as follows. The successful High 5 Employee Recognition program, highlights and recognizes staff members who demonstrate one of our 5 core values; Excellence, Compassion, Integrity, Service, and Stewardship. Enhanced technology provides staff with tools for easy access to important information. Schedules, benefit information, personal payroll information and more is available through most electronic devices including cell phones. An intranet portal creates opportunity to connect to what’s happening throughout our large health care organization on a daily basis. The Healthy You program encourages healthy habits by providing incentives for those who make choices with their own wellness in mind.
Prior to joining our team Jamie served in HR Generalist and Specialist roles within the Human Resources Departments of non-profit healthcare and social service organizations. She is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace University.
Vice President of Residential Services
Nancy Sutula has worked in the healthcare field since she was 14, starting as a volunteer in a hospital based Sports Medicine Center. Her passion for working with the senior care population was ignited when she worked as a STNA while attending college. Nancy earned her B.S. in Gerontology from Bowling Green State University and M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration from Lake Erie College. She also attended the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and became an Ohio Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Prior to joining the Menorah Park team, Nancy worked at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village and served as the Adult Day Center Manager, before becoming a Housing Administrator. Nancy joined Menorah Park in 2010 as the Administrator at Wiggins Place. She became the Vice President of Residential Services in 2018 and is responsible for operation of Independent Living, Assisted Living and Medical Transportation.
Director of Public Relations and Marketing
Beth Silver has more than 20 years experience working to illuminate the benefits of Menorah Park's healthcare and senior living services for adults as they age, and more than a decade of experience focused on strategic analysis and product development. Among her focusses is creating strong brand awareness through strategic planning and initiatives that include an award-winning magazine with a circulation of more than 17,000. 2020 marks the third consecutive year of receiving the APEX Award.
She is on the editorial board of Boomer Magazine, mentors young professionals on best practices in public relations and ethics, and is a longstanding member of the Council on Older Persons. She has also been a strong advocate for seniors at the state level co-authoring an article entitled “Advocacy Initiatives for Senior Service Providers.” In addition to this article, she has written multiple articles focused on health care for research, trade and web-based publications, and has received awards for Excellence in Communications and Social Commitment.
Administrator, Wiggins Place
Frankie joined the Menorah Park team in May 2016, bringing 17 years of experience working with seniors in Skilled Nursing and Rehab facilities, Assisted Living, and Independent living facilities. Frankie was hired at Wiggins Place as the Associate Administrator /Social worker, working there for a little over a year before transitioning to RH Myers Apartments in June 2017 as the Associate Administrator /Admissions Director /Social worker.
My role, in each building, included assisting the Administrator, Admission
/Administrative responsibilities as well as addressing tenant psychosocial
needs. “I have learned so very much in the short time that I have been a
part of the Menorah Park team. I have been challenged and grown
professionally working in each building and honestly, have loved every
minute of it!” Frankie shared. She went on to say that she was excited to
transition to the role of Administrator of Wiggins Place and is grateful for
this opportunity, planning to do her very best to continue to represent
Menorah Park well as she leads the Wiggins Place team.
Frankie Twymonattended The University of Akron and graduated with a BA in Social Work with a Language (Spanish) and is licensed as a Social Worker through the State of Ohio since 2001. On December 2, 2019, Frankie earned the Ohio designation of Certified Executive for Assisted Living (CEAL) from the Ohio Healthcare Association.
Administrator, The R.H. Myers Apartments
Megan Cisler, has outstanding experience in the field of gerontology, effectively supporting the needs of older adults as they age helping each individual she engages to live life to its fullest. She joined the Menorah Park community in 2015. Her skills include management and operations, memory care, behavioral health and senior advocacy. She has a Masters in Gerontological Studies from Miami University and a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Ohio Northern University.
Administrator, Stone Gardens
Tzvi joined the healthcare field in 2015. After obtaining his Bachelors Degree from Excelsior College, he completed his Administrator-in-Training at The Montefiore Home and became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 2017. He has consistently strived to increase patient satisfaction and outcomes, and has always been loved by his residents. His attention to detail, as well as business acumen, served him well to prepare him for his current role at Stone Gardens. A consistent phrase he likes to tell his residents “I am here to join YOUR team- you will train me how to be the best Administrator possible.” He is active in the local community where he lives with his wife and three children.
Vice President of Medical Affairs
Menorah Park welcomes Dr. Jessica Coleman, DO, CMD, as our new Vice President of Medical Affairs. Dr. Coleman comes from Summa Health where she served as Medical Director for the New Health Collaborative's Post-Acute Network. She also served as Medical Director for two post-acute facilities. She is board certified in both Family Medicine and Geriatrics in addition to being a Certified Medical Director. Dr. Coleman serves on the board as president-elect of the Ohio Society for Post-Acute and Long Term Care.
Dr. Coleman is local to the northeast Ohio area and enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 small daughters.
