Steven R. Raichilson, M.H.A.
Executive Director
Steven R. Raichilson has been a nursing home administrator at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living since 1987. For more than three decades, his chief responsibilities have included supervising more than1,000 employees, managing an annual budget exceeding $60 million dollars, and overseeing the programming and care provided to more than 1,000 residents and outpatient clients each day. Prior to arriving at Menorah Park, he spent 11 years as the executive director of Greenwood House, Home for Jewish Aged (Trenton, NJ).
Under his direction, the Menorah Park campus has grown by leaps and bounds. During his tenure, projects such as the construction of the Stone Gardens Assisted Living Residence, the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Pavilion, the Peter B. Lewis Aquatic & Therapy Center, Wiggins Place, an assisted living residence, and the Center for Dialysis Care have come to fruition. In addition to structural expansions, his leadership has netted new senior care programs, post-hospital sub-acute care, end-of-life hospice care, aquatics therapy, home health care and assisted living.
Steven is a frequent presenter at educational workshops and seminars to nursing home administrators on topics such as nursing assistant recruitment, construction and planning of assisted living residences, and intelligent budgeting for those operations. He was appointed by the governor of New Jersey to a commission that redrafted the state’s nursing home regulations. He is the former Chapter President of the American College of Health Care. Additionally, he is recipient of the 2007 Leadership in Nonprofit Management Award from the Mandel Center of Case Western Reserve University.
Richard Schwalberg, M.H.A.
Administrator of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living
Offering more than 25 years experience in health care facility management, Richard has been Chief Operating Officer of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living, since 1990. His primary responsibility is in the operation of Menorah Park’s 360-bed skilled nursing facility, which offers long-term and sub-acute care to patients. He also oversees in-patient and outpatient rehabilitation, and the aquatic therapy center.
Richard received the Association of Jewish Aging Services’ (AJAS) Dr. Herbert Shore Young Executive Award in 2001, and the 2006 AJAS Professional award. He is an active Board member of AJAS, and he has co-chaired two annual AJAS conferences. He is a strong advocate for seniors and wellness services, and as a result received the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) Outstanding Advocacy Award in 2008.
Dr. Michael Knight
Menorah Park Medical Director
Michael Knight, D.O., became Medical Director of Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in 2001. As an experienced and board-certified family practitioner catering to an older adult population, Dr. Knight brings a supportive and sensitive style of medical care and leadership to Menorah Park. His experience as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern Ohio University College of Medicine enables him to be a strong contributor in shaping Menorah Park's new medical and nursing education programs.
One of his main objectives has been to increase educational efforts throughout the facility as well as in the community to provide the best care for those served by Menorah Park. Dr. Knight has welcomed interns and students from multiple colleges and hospitals. He is a preceptor for Tri-C’s Physician Assistant program and has added that role to Menorah Park’s medical team.
His compassion and innovation have truly benefited the geriatric population throughout the community. He developed Menorah Park’s Comfort Care Program, which developed into a Medicare certified Hospice Program to best accommodate residents’ needs and desires at end-of-life.
Menorah Park’s sub-acute program has flourished under his leadership. Each year, 800 persons come for inpatient rehabilitation and return home to an independent lifestyle due to his leadership.
Prior to joining Menorah Park, Dr. Knight was Medical Director of the Goodyear Family Medical Center and managed a family practice for Akron General Medical Center.
Stew Collins
Administrator of The R.H. Myers Apartments
Stew Collins has served as Administrator at The R.H. Myers Apartments since 1997. With a strong history of success in his previous roles in hotel management, Stew’s expertise raises the bar of the common expectations of catered living. At R.H. Myers, tenants are able to be as independent as they wish, with the option of opting out of certain tasks such as doing laundry, cleaning and maintenance. Under Stew’s supervision, The R.H. Myers Apartments has continually evolved and grown, now offering a wider-array of services and amenities, larger, even more luxurious two-bedroom, two-bath apartments, and an appeal that garners a waiting list of prospective tenants.
Stew is a member of the Greater Cleveland Senior Housing Council and the Midwest Affordable Housing Management Association, and he holds the title of Certified Occupancy Specialist with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Ross Wilkoff
Administrator of Stone Gardens Assisted Living
Since 1997, Ross Wilkoff has served as Administrator of Stone Gardens Assisted Living in Beachwood, Ohio. His attention to detail and solid leadership of a well-trained staff has created in Stone Gardens an award winning, loving home and a strong community with high-quality programs and services. At Stone Gardens, services and amenities have been carefully designed to help residents manage on their own while maintaining their independence and lifestyle. Ross is a recipient of the Ohio Assisted Living Association’s Honoring Excellence Awards, and Stone Gardens has received Excellence in Service Awards from the Advocate for Non-for-Profit Services for Older Ohioans.
Nancy Sutula
Administrator of Wiggins Place
Nancy Sutula, Administrator of Wiggins Place, has a B.S. in Gerontology and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration, a Certified Aging Services Professional, and Ohio Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. She has had experience as an activities director, an adult day center manager and most recently, Housing Administrator at Breckenridge Village.
Jamie Herbst
Director of Human Resources
Jamie Herbst is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College. She joined Menorah Park as our Director of Human Resources in 1996. Prior to joining our team Jamie served in HR Generalist and Specialist roles within the Human Resource Departments of non-profit healthcare and social services organizations. Jamie has developed many programs designed to enhance the work environment and promote health and wellness for our 1200 staff members. The annual staff photography contest is also very popular. Staff members can keep up with monthly events, contests, birthdays, or even place a classified ad to sell something in the monthly staff newsletter, The Pulse. Jamie also has administrative responsibility for our on-site child care center, FUNdamentals. This wonderful benefit for our employees allows them to have their children cared for in our safe and fun learning environment, with the peace of mind that they are only steps away throughout the day. FUNdamentals has achieved a three-star rating from Ohio's Step-up-to-Quality program. In addition, Jamie administers our biweekly "Service with a Heart" Guest Relations program, designed to enhance our organization's focus on excellence in customer service. Her training at Disney World and The Ritz Carlton has been incorporated into this program, which has resulted in wonderful feedback from residents, families and guests.
Beth Silver
Director of Public Relations and Marketing
Beth Silver has 15 years experience working in a senior care environment, and more than a decade of experience focused on strategic analysis and product development. She is on the editorial board of the Association of Jewish Aging Services of North America’s (AJAS) Journal on Jewish Aging, and co-authored an article entitled “Advocacy Initiatives for Senior Service Providers.” In addition to this article, she has written multiple articles focused on health care for research, trade and web-based publications, and recently received an Excellence in Communications Award from the Advocate of Not-For-Profit Services for Older Ohioans (AOPHA). Her role as staff liaison for Menorah Park’s Government Relations Committee has led to development of materials used as examples and tools by associations such as AOPHA and AJAS. Collaborative efforts with the committee have resulted in successful advocacy at the state level as well as several association awards. She is a member of the Government Relations Committee of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, and advises local students in effective debate practices.
Robert S. Matitia, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Matitia joined Menorah Park in May 2009 and is responsible for all financial affairs of Menorah Park. Prior to joining Menorah Park, he was the Corporate Senior Manager in charge of Financial Reporting, Audit and Accounting Compliance at University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland, Ohio from 2001 to May 2009. Previous to his position at University Hospitals, Mr. Matitia was an Accounting and Auditing Manager with Ernst & Young from 1995 to 2001 primarily serving health care clients. Mr. Matitia has both an MBA and a Master’s in Accounting and Financial Information Systems from Cleveland State University and currently serves on its Accounting Advisory Board. Mr. Matitia is a licensed CPA in the state of Ohio and he is also a Certified Internal Controls Auditor and Certified in Financial Forensics. He is a Fellow and former Board member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and currently chairs its Certification Committee for the Northeast Ohio Chapter.
