ShalomLine is a free telephone reassurance program for older adults and their children’s peace of mind. The parent receives a daily check-in call to make sure that they are safe. Operated under the supervision of a licensed social worker in the Menorah Park Adult Day Center, ShalomLine trains its volunteers to call subscribers at the same time every day. If everything is fine, the older adults receiving the service can enjoy a few moments of friendly conversation with their volunteers. But if the subscriber fails to answer the phone, the emergency contact person is notified immediately to check on the situation.
